Movers, Shakers, Difference Makers

Just like most educators, I put a tremendous amount of research, PD, and sweat into honing my skills as an educator and “difference maker.” As I searched for better ways to fine-tune the process of teaching and learning, my compass was always pointed in the direction of making people better. A prelude to making anything better is making yourself better. Not just better at achieving knowledge of curriculum but supporting improved people in a well-rounded capacity: Body, Mind, Heart, Spirit. In the end, we are who we want to be.

1)       Serve to lead
a.       Awareness creates opportunities
b.      Servant versus self-servant

2)      There are always better ways
a.       It’s not my way or the highway
b.      If you only have one idea, you’re not hanging around the right people

3)      Communicate
a.       Talk to as many stakeholders as possible
b.      Listen – It takes a lot of practice

4)      Leadership is a choice
a.       It’s not position
b.      It’s not popularity

5)      Be passionate about it or don’t do it
a.       Be adventurous
b.      Be a dream catcher
