Your Life Is Special. What are you going to do with it?
Every time a pop icon dies, mortality hits me. Recently, it was Carrie Fisher. She was only two years older than me. I surely am not done building my legacy so I better start doing things differently. I wonder if these famous people really understand how much of an impact and influence they have on people.
Even my 20-year-old daughter, a real Star War fan, was hit with a feeling of grief. I wasn’t sure why at the time, and I’m not sure she was either. Later she told me that Princess Leia represented to her a strong, female role model that was not afraid to take risks to make the universe a better place (I paraphrased). It makes sense.
I believe that if we make the time to build relationships and show each person we meet to realize they are special and important, we, too will have a profound legacy. We, too, will allow people to know that they are special and their lives can have a distinct, positive effect on the world. In the end, you are who you want to be.
It is important that as you discover your calling, that you realize just how special and important each of us can become. Have the abundance mentality and create more authentic leadership. We are all rock stars and movie stars to some extent. We have influence.
I want my daughters to be successful but that success must include happiness. Self-communicate a continuous growth to reach that plateau with your compass pointed true north. Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) walked the talk, and she realized the importance of the people around her. Whether they were Wookies, smugglers, or Jedi Masters, her goals included making the people and the “worlds” around her better places. First, she started with herself.
Peace and HAPPY New Year!
