Gratitude Part 8 - You are just about as successful as you think you’ll be.

Year 9 - You are just about as successful as you think you’ll be.
Dr. R.,
I had to write to you and express my feelings. I have an older child and have been through school as a parent from elementary to college and experienced a lot of teachers and principals along the way.
You are a unique man: The epitome of a role model. You went above and beyond for my son. He needed your gentle but firm guidance, you are a wonderful man. The best educator, principal, role model I could ever want for my children. You made a difference in my son’s life at a crucial time. He still “pushes the envelope” but he is a changes young man. I owe that to you.
After our first encounter in 5th grade, I  told my son I was impressed by you that whatever you say goes. I trusted you then and I still do. You are a man of character, which are few and far between.
Thank you for being you and helping my little boy turn into a changed young man.
You will always have a special place in my heart because you made a difference with my son.
Belhaven is lucky to have you. I am grateful my son had you as a principal. I feel honored to have met you, even though sometimes during stressful times.
I tell both my children frequently when faced with a difficult decisions; what would Dr. R. do? Then proceed.
My entire family has utmost respect for you. Thank you for changing my son’s life. You DID make a difference.
Forever Grateful,
ST

I attended the Renaissance Conference last summer. I attended all of you sessions. As the activities director and Associated Student Body (ASB) advisor, you have given me so many ideas. We now have lotions, candy, and accessories in both bathrooms. We just had a very successful girls’ sleepover. I use Dr. Frank’s book every day and more. Thank you for being an inspiration to me!!
Love,
Nicole
Frank,
Thank you for being a big part in creating an environment of safety and stimulation, inspirations, etc. I think some call that LEADERSHIP!

Dear Dr. R.,
Words cannot describe how thankful I am to be in  so many events. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and bringing Renaissance to Belhaven. Last but not least, thank you for being such a great leader.

Ty (5th grader)
RE: Renaissance Blue/Gold Basketball Game
I brought my daughter to the game to show her where I work and to have some fun. What an exciting, thrilling game it was! The skill level of students and staffulty is astonishing.
Also, thank for the thoughtful card acknowledging the support staff. It brought a smile to my face.

Dear Dr. Rudnesky,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your excellent input into the International Association of Character Cities. I thought your presentation to the Linwood City Council was an overwhelming success. It is clear to me that the success that you have had with renaissance at the Belhaven School has a natural extension to the Linwood citizens in total. With your energetic backing of Renaissance, you have done an excellent service to the Belhaven Middle School. If you are involved, I know it will be an awe-inspiring success.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for doing such a fine job at the helm of the Belhaven Middle School. My personal experience as Jay’s father has shown me that Belhaven is clearly one of the leaders in the way of middle school education should be. Jay has not only blossomed from an academic standpoint, but from the friendship he has gained amongst his fellow students and teachers. I think this was fifth appearance before Linwood City Council in the last three years on various celebratory occasions.
Again, thank you for your fine job and excellent presentation.
Sincerely,
MDF, M.D.

Dr. Rudnesky - quick story you have to hear !!!!
A few years back our former principal Julie heard you guys speak at the Jostens renaissance National Conference. (Minnesota I believe.) The message was live, love, learn, leave a legacy. Well she misplaced who said it, but she loved it. A year ago she was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. She dies July 29, 2008. Julie was Bear River Middle School! ! At her memorial we made 1000 wrist bands with Live, Love, Learn, Leave a Legacy. Shortly thereafter our Renaissance Advisor found where we got the quote.
IT WAS YOU GUYS!! DESTINY MAN!!!! AWESOME!!!!!
Sincerely,
Pat
This is an email response from a teacher that was on bed rest restriction for more than half her pregnancy. We sent her a story called The Smell of Rain - an inspirational story.
Frank,
Thank you for that as tears pour down my face. There is not a day goes by that I don’t wonder what it would have been like to lose her. She is our miracle, and I am so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends that have helped us make it this far. I truly treasure having this year to spend with my girls. Thank you for everything
Handwritten Note:
Frank,
I wanted to thank you for a pedagogy based on heart. Your words made me realize that there are teachers and administrators who truly care about their students and profession. Whatever happens with my future at Belhaven, I want to let you know that your book will always leave me with something that I have been searching (and missing) for a long time: COURAGE.
Thank you,
JW
Dear Dr. R.,
First and foremost, you are an accomplished leader on all ends. You possess a natural ability at leading others, and teaching students to do the right thing in life. I appreciate you coming into our classes and teaching us how to be young leaders. You have the courage to face all challenges in life and that is something very admirable. You always exemplify positive attitude. Not only that, you take responsibility for the important things you do such as finishing a job and more. You finish jobs quickly and efficiently. It is something that anyone would admire.
From,

Frank,
Thank you so very much. My staff loved the presentation. So many people came to me and told me how terrific it was. I love your energy and dynamic presentation skills. You have helped me so much, and I will always be grateful!
Thanks again,
Joan (school administrator)
Dr. R.,
You have taught me so many different character traits. You always show respect when I see you throughout the school. If there are papers or pencils on the floor you pick them up. That clearly shows you respect our school. Every day,  you express friendship when you greet others in the hallways by saying hello or smiling. It makes my day a whole lot better. Most importantly, you always show positive attitude. You’re always in a good mood no matter how you’re day is going. By watching you’re characteristics and kind leadership, it has encouraged me to strive to be a great leader like you. Thank you so much for being my principal.
Natalie
