OK, Now What? – Five moves to start catching those summer dreams

OK, Now What? – Five moves to start catching those summer dreams

If you are an educator or a student, the end of the school year either happened or is about to happen. In addition to refueling, most educators are connected to some kind of professional development. This may include self-inflicted research and reading or attending a multitude of online resources and conferences that gear up during the down months.

Most students are working or traveling but there is also a majority that are fine-tuning their learning process. Even if students set aside a period of time each day to read, write, and invent, it would be time very well spent.

1)      Keep creating the whole person- Body, Mind, Heart, Spirit

We all need to keep the whole person active. If you are not balanced, you will deteriorate in the long term. All levels of success are lowered. Short cuts now, lead to longcuts later. Come up with a plan to take care of every part of YOU.

2)      Try Something New

Now’s the time. What are you waiting for? Whether it’s surfing or woodworking, don’t put it off. Tomorrow never happens.

3)      Learn

There is a plethora of newsletters and online sources that you can get delivered to your email every day. It can be something you are passionate about or something you’ve always wanted to incorporate into your life.

4)      Relax

Take a deep breath. Get some sleep. Eat some fresh fruit and vegetables. Spend time with friends and family that you’ve put off. Play a board game or a picnic game.

5)      Vacation

A vacation day isn’t for chores. Even if cash is short, take a drive to a local hot spot or the beach. Collect shells. Go fishing. Have a scavenger hunt.

When you stop learning, you stop leading. We must keep developing our talents. Most of us haven’t even tested a fraction of what we can do. So, let’s do it! Enjoy your summer.
