The Leader-Ship: Who's On Board? Acknowledgements

The Leader-Ship: Who's On Board?

What does it take to be you? What does it take to be great? What does it take to be a leader?

Expect a lot from yourself.

Believe in yourself.

Do whatever it takes.

I acknowledge all the educators in my life: those that are surprised that this is my third book never took the time to connect with me. Those educators that are not surprised knew me and expected a lot from me. As you proceed in your journey of life, be a dream maker not a dream killer.

It saddens me that as I reflect on my education, I can only think of a handful of teachers that made a positive difference in my life. Even more pathetic is the fact that I can only name a few in the four colleges and universities I attended. If you are an educator, embrace the gift of your students every day. Love them and lead them unconditionally. No matter what your vocation, embrace the people around you and love your life. You only get one.

The title of this book was inspired by a t-shirt created by Dan Van Beek from T-Graphics West. He creates a leadership shirt each year for one of our events. The name stuck with me.

The events and concepts in this book were inspired by a positive attitude, the people around me, and my personal mission: Improve the quality of my life and the quality of the lives of the people around me.

Don’t live life like a rubric!
